AURORA, COLO. — BCR's digital initiatives consultant, Leigh Grinstead, and the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) are presenting an AASLH workshop, Digitizing Audio Collections, July 22-24, in St. Louis, Missouri. This is a unique opportunity for cultural heritage professionals to experience three days of in-depth training focusing on the how, why and what of digitizing audio artifacts.

Learn about planning for a digital audio project, including how to implement best practices and what you need to know about metadata practices and policies. Share a hands-on experience with your colleagues while participating in demonstrations and working in teams to create metadata records. Come away with resources and examples to help begin the process of planning for a digital audio project at your own library, historical society, museum or special collections archive.

Cost for the workshop is $200 for AASLH members and $265 for nonmembers.

Register today at the AASLH website. For additional information, send an email to AASLH Program Associate Bethany Hawkins (Hawkins@aaslh.org) or call her at 615.320.3203.
